John was born in the Netherlands in Dec. 1933
In 1953 John was conscripted in the Dutch army as Sergeant Radio Technician and finished my army duties late 1954.
John then worked as a radio technician at vliegveld Ypenburg near Den Haag till 1959.
In Sept. 1959 John migrated to Sydney Australia.
In Sydney John commenced work as a technician for Amalgamated Wireless Australasia (AWA) and held various roles and capacities for 36 years.
John also studied during that period at TAFE completing the Supervision and Management Certificate and also graduated in 1986 in Management at the Institute of Technology of NSW.
John joined the board of the Abel Tasman Village late 1997 and John is the current treasurer.
In 2002 John joined the boards of the Federation of Netherlands Societies and the Queen Wilhelmina Dutch-Australian Benevolent Fund and John is the current treasurer for both organization.
John is also a member and volunteer at the Rembrandt Dutch Club and a member of Neerlandia Dutch Club.
